In the time of his distress did he trespass yet more against the LORD, this same king Achaz.


He didn't humble himself before the LORD, as Menasheh his father had humbled himself; but this same Amon trespassed more and more.


He also rebelled against king Nevukhadnetzar 1, who had made him swear by God: but he stiffened his neck, and hardened his heart against turning to the LORD, the God of Yisra'el.


The LORD said to Moshe, *When you go back into Egypt, see that you do before Par`oh all the wonders which I have put in your hand, but I will harden his heart and he will not let the people go.


The LORD said to Moshe, *Par`oh's heart is stubborn. He refuses to let the people go.


But when Par`oh saw that there was a respite, he hardened his heart, and didn't listen to them, as the LORD had spoken.


Moshe went out of the city from Par`oh, and spread abroad his hands to the LORD; and the thunders and hail ceased, and the rain was not poured on the earth.


The heart of Par`oh was hardened, and he didn't let the children of Yisra'el go, just as the LORD had spoken through Moshe.


Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.


Why then do you harden your hearts, as the Egyptians and Par`oh hardened their hearts? When he had worked wonderfully among them, didn't they let the people go, and they departed?
