The LORD said to Moshe, Don't fear him: for I have delivered him into your hand, and all his people, and his land; and you shall do to him as you did to Sichon king of the Amori, who lived at Cheshbon.


The LORD said to me, Behold, I have begun to deliver up Sichon and his land before you: begin to possess, that you may inherit his land.


But Sichon didn't trust Yisra'el to pass through his border; but Sichon gathered all his people together, and encamped in Yahatz, and fought against Yisra'el.
