Besides being wise, the Preacher also taught the people knowledge, weighing and studying and arranging many proverbs with great care.


They have turned to me their back and not their face. And though I have taught them persistently, they have not listened to receive instruction.


At that hour Jesus said to the crowds, “Have you come out as against a robber, with swords and clubs to capture me? Day after day I sat in the temple teaching, and you did not seize me.


And he went throughout all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every affliction among the people.


And they went into Capernaum, and immediately on the Sabbath he entered the synagogue and was teaching.


And Pharisees came up and in order to test him asked, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife?”


And as Jesus taught in the temple, he said, “How can the scribes say that the Christ is the son of David?


Day after day I was with you in the temple teaching, and you did not seize me. But let the Scriptures be fulfilled.”


He went out again beside the sea, and all the crowd was coming to him, and he was teaching them.


And he was teaching them many things in parables, and in his teaching he said to them:


And on the Sabbath he began to teach in the synagogue, and many who heard him were astonished, saying, “Where did this man get these things? What is the wisdom given to him? How are such mighty works done by his hands?


When he went ashore he saw a great crowd, and he had compassion on them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd. And he began to teach them many things.


And he marveled because of their unbelief. And he went about among the villages teaching.


He went away again across the Jordan to the place where John had been baptizing at first, and there he remained.


Then after this he said to the disciples, “Let us go to Judea again.”


Jesus answered him, “I have spoken openly to the world. I have always taught in synagogues and in the temple, where all Jews come together. I have said nothing in secret.
