24 And the king said, “Let him dwell apart in his own house; he is not to come into my presence.” So Absalom lived apart in his own house and did not come into the king’s presence.

And her brother Absalom said to her, “Has Amnon your brother been with you? Now hold your peace, my sister. He is your brother; do not take this to heart.” So Tamar lived, a desolate woman, in her brother Absalom’s house.


So Absalom lived two full years in Jerusalem, without coming into the king’s presence.


And he said, “Good; I will make a covenant with you. But one thing I require of you; that is, you shall not see my face unless you first bring Michal, Saul’s daughter, when you come to see my face.”


Then Pharaoh said to him, “Get away from me; take care never to see my face again, for on the day you see my face you shall die.”


They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads.
