When the woman of Tekoa came to the king, she fell on her face to the ground and paid homage and said, “Save me, O king.”


And he said to him, “Say now to her, ‘See, you have taken all this trouble for us; what is to be done for you? Would you have a word spoken on your behalf to the king or to the commander of the army?’” She answered, “I dwell among my own people.”


Now as the king of Israel was passing by on the wall, a woman cried out to him, saying, “Help, my lord, O king!”


So the woman arose and did according to the word of the man of God. She went with her household and sojourned in the land of the Philistines seven years.


Now the king was talking with Gehazi the servant of the man of God, saying, “Tell me all the great things that Elisha has done.”


And when the king asked the woman, she told him. So the king appointed an official for her, saying, “Restore all that was hers, together with all the produce of the fields from the day that she left the land until now.”


He judged the cause of the poor and needy; then it was well. Is not this to know me? declares the Lord.


So she set out from the place where she was with her two daughters-in-law, and they went on the way to return to the land of Judah.
