Then the angel of the Lord appeared to him in a flame of fire within a bush.  As Moses looked, he saw that the bush was on fire but was not consumed.


Then he continued, ‘I am the God of your father,  the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.’  Moses hid his face because he was afraid to look at God.


He said to me, ‘Daniel, you are a man treasured by God.  , Understand the words that I’m saying to you. Stand on your feet,  for I have now been sent to you.’  After he said this to me, I stood trembling.


I looked up, and there was a man dressed in linen,  with a belt of gold  from Uphaz  , round his waist.


So he approached where I was standing; when he came near, I was terrified and fell face down.  ‘Son of man,’ he said to me, ‘understand that the vision refers to the time of the end.’


The angel answered him, ‘I am Gabriel,  who stands in the presence of God,  and I was sent to speak to you and tell you this good news.


As he was praying, the appearance of his face changed,  and his clothes became dazzling white.


And all who were sitting in the Sanhedrin looked intently at him and saw that his face was like the face of an angel.


This is the blessing that Moses, the man of God, gave the Israelites before his death.


But you, man of God, flee from these things, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love,  endurance,  and gentleness.


The descendants of Judah approached Joshua at Gilgal, and Caleb son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite said to him, ‘You know what the Lord promised Moses the man of God at Kadesh-barnea about you and me.


When I saw him, I fell at his feet like a dead man.  He laid his right hand on me and said, ‘Don’t be afraid. I am the First and the Last,


The woman ran quickly to her husband and told him, ‘The man who came to me the other day has just come back! ’


‘We’re certainly going to die,’ he said to his wife, ‘because we have seen God! ’


The angel of the Lord appeared to the woman and said to her, ‘Although you are unable to conceive and have no children, you will conceive and give birth to a son.


He said to me, “You will conceive and give birth to a son. Therefore, do not drink wine or beer, and do not eat anything unclean, because the boy will be a Nazirite to God from birth until the day of his death.” ’


Manoah prayed  to the Lord and said, ‘Please, Lord, let the man of God you sent come again to us and teach us what we should do for the boy who will be born.’


The angel of the Lord   came, and he sat under the oak that was in Ophrah,  which belonged to Joash, the Abiezrite. His son Gideon was threshing wheat in the winepress in order to hide it from the Midianites.


A man of God came to Eli and said to him,  ‘This is what the Lord says: “Didn’t I reveal myself to your forefather’s family  when they were in Egypt and belonged to Pharaoh’s palace?


‘Look,’ the servant said, ‘there’s a man of God  in this city who is highly respected; everything he says is sure to come true.  Let’s go there now. Maybe he’ll tell us which way we should go.’
