Then Jacob asked him, ‘Please tell me your name.’ But he answered, ‘Why do you ask my name? ’  And he blessed him there.


Jacob then named the place Peniel,  ‘For I have seen God face to face,’ he said, ‘yet my life has been spared.’

Be attentive to him and listen to him. Do not defy him, because he will not forgive your acts of rebellion, for my name is in him.


For every trampling boot of battle and the bloodied garments of war will be burned as fuel for the fire.


For a child will be born for us, a son will be given to us, and the government will be on his shoulders. He will be named Wonderful Counsellor,  Mighty God, Eternal Father,  Prince of Peace.


Then the woman went and told her husband, ‘A man of God came to me. He looked like the awe-inspiring angel of God. I didn’t ask him where he came from, and he didn’t tell me his name.
