But now that this has happened to you, you have become exhausted. It strikes  you, and you are dismayed.


A despairing man should receive loyalty from his friends,  , even if he abandons the fear of the Almighty.


Surely the arrows of the Almighty have pierced   me; my spirit drinks their poison. God’s terrors are arrayed against me.


Yes, he repeatedly turns his hand against me all day long.


Now, look, the Lord’s hand is against you.  You are going to be blind, and will not see the sun for a time.’ Immediately a mist and darkness fell on him, and he went around seeking someone to lead him by the hand.


Rejoice with those who rejoice;  weep with those who weep.


So if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; if one member is honoured, all the members rejoice with it.


Remember those in prison, as though you were in prison with them, and the mistreated,  as though you yourselves were suffering bodily.


would you be willing to wait for them to grow up? Would you restrain yourselves from remarrying?  No, my daughters, my life is much too bitter for you to share,  because the Lord’s hand has turned against me.’
