Declare it in Judah, and make it known in Jerusalem! Speak out and sound the trumpet in the land! Cry out strongly and say: 'Gather yourselves! And let us go forth to fortified cities!'


So then, will you not fear me, says the Lord. And will you not have sorrow before my face? I have placed the shore as a limit for the sea, as an everlasting precept that it will not transgress. And its waves will crash, but they will not prevail; and its waves will swell, but they will not go across.


Therefore, say to them: Thus says the Lord God: I will cause this proverb to cease, and it shall no longer be a common saying in Israel. And tell them that the days are approaching, and the word of every vision.


Cry out and wail, O son of man! For this has been done among my people, this is among all the leaders of Israel, who have fled. They have been handed over to the sword, with my people. Therefore, slap your thigh,


For the day is near, and the day of the Lord is approaching! It is a day of gloom; it will be the time of the Gentiles.

For, behold, the day will arrive, kindled like a furnace, and all the arrogant and all those who act impiously will be stubble. And the approaching day will inflame them, says the Lord of hosts; it will leave behind for them neither root, nor sprout.


"Make for yourself two trumpets of ductile silver, with which you may be able to call together the multitude when the camp is to be moved.


And when you sound the trumpets, all the multitude shall gather to you at the door of the tabernacle of the covenant.


For example, if the trumpet made an uncertain sound, who would prepare himself for battle?


And so, my most beloved, just as you have always obeyed, not only in my presence, but even more so now in my absence: work toward your salvation with fear and trembling.


For you yourselves thoroughly understand that the day of the Lord shall arrive much like a thief in the night.


Therefore, you too should be patient and should strengthen your hearts. For the advent of the Lord draws near.


But the end of everything draws near. And so, be prudent, and be vigilant in your prayers.


For the great day of their wrath has arrived. And who will be able to stand?"
