After six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John the brother of James, and led them up on a high mountain by themselves.
And taking with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, he began to be sorrowful and distressed.
So they immediately left the boat and their father and followed him.
James the son of Zebedee and John the brother of James (whom he gave the name Boanerges, which means, Sons of Thunder);
From that point he did not allow anyone to accompany him except Peter, James, and John the brother of James.
Simon Peter, Thomas (called Didymus), Nathanael (from Cana of Galilee), the sons of Zebedee, and two of Jesus' other disciples were together.
