When they drew near to Jerusalem and came to Bethsphage and Bethany, at the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent two of his disciples ahead


Then Jesus entered Jerusalem and went into the temple courts. When he had looked around at everything, he went out to Bethany with the twelve, since the hour was already late.


And when evening came, he went out of the city.


Meanwhile Jesus was in Bethany, reclining at the table in the house of Simon the leper, and a woman came with an alabaster jar of very expensive ointment made of pure nard. She broke the alabaster jar and poured out the ointment on his head.


But Jesus withdrew with his disciples to the sea, and a great multitude from Galilee followed him, and also from Judea,


As Jesus and his disciples went along, he entered a village, and a woman named Martha welcomed him into her home.


As he drew near to Bethsphage and Bethany, at the mount called Olivet, he sent two of his disciples ahead,


Then he led them out as far as Bethany, and lifting up his hands he blessed them.


Now a man named Lazarus was sick. He was from Bethany, the village of Mary and her sister Martha.


Now Bethany was near Jerusalem, about two miles away,
