So Jesus called them over and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great men exercise authority over them.


When Jesus saw this, he was indignant and said to them, “Let the little children come to me; do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.


When the ten heard this, they began to be indignant with James and John.


But the ruler of the synagogue, indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, said to the crowd in response, “There are six days in which work should be done; so come and be healed on those days and not on the Sabbath day.”


Love is patient and kind. Love does not envy or boast. It is not puffed up


Do nothing from selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility regard others as more important than yourselves.


But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast or deny the truth.


In the same way, you who are younger must submit to your elders. And all of you must clothe yourselves with humility as you submit to one another, for “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.”
