So He brought me there, and look, a man whose appearance was like the appearance of bronze, and a line of flax and a measuring rod in his hand, and he stood in the gateway.
And I lifted up my eyes and looked, and saw a man with a measuring line in his hand.
And I said, “Where are you going?” And he said to me, “To measure Yerushalayim, to see what is its width and what is its length.”
and having a great and high wall, having twelve gates, and at the gates twelve messengers, and names written on them, which are those of the twelve tribes of the children of Yisra’ĕl:
And the city lies four-cornered, and its length is as great as its breadth. And he measured the city with the rod: twelve thousand stadia – the length, and the breadth, and height of it are equal.
And the twelve gates were twelve pearls – each one of the gates was a single pearl. And the street of the city was clean gold, like transparent glass.
And its gates shall not be shut at all by day, for night shall not be there.
