But the Lĕwites were not registered among them by their fathers’ tribe,
“Only the tribe of Lĕwi you do not register, nor take a census of them among the children of Yisra’ĕl.
These are the ones registered by Mosheh and El‛azar the priest, who registered the sons of Yisra’ĕl in the desert plains of Mo’aḇ by the Yardĕn of Yeriḥo.
All the registered ones of the Lĕwites, whom Mosheh and Aharon registered at the mouth of יהוה, by their clans, all the males from a new moon old and above, were twenty-two thousand.
“At the mouth of Aharon and his sons is all the service of the sons of the Gĕrshonites, all their burden and all their service. And you shall appoint to them all the duty of all their burden.
Therefore Lĕwi has no portion nor inheritance with his brothers. יהוה is his inheritance, as יהוה your Elohim promised him.
Only to the tribe of Lĕwi he had given no inheritance – the offerings made by fire to יהוה Elohim of Yisra’ĕl were their inheritance, as He said to them.
But to the tribe of Lĕwi Mosheh gave no inheritance. יהוה, Elohim of Yisra’ĕl, He was their inheritance, as He had said to them.
For Mosheh had given the inheritance of the two tribes and the half-tribe beyond the Yardĕn, but to the Lĕwites he gave no inheritance in their midst.
