“Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Tsiyon! Shout, O daughter of Yerushalayim! See, your Sovereign is coming to you, He is righteous and endowed with deliverance, humble and riding on a donkey, a colt, the foal of a donkey.


And all this came to be in order to fill what was spoken by יהוה through the prophet, saying,


And if anyone says whatever to you, you shall say, ‘The Master needs them,’ and immediately he shall send them.


But all this came to be, so that the Scriptures of the prophets might be filled. Then all the taught ones left Him and fled.


And they brought the colt to יהושע and threw their garments on it, and He sat on it.


So they brought it to יהושע. And throwing their garments on the colt, they set יהושע on it.


On the next day a great crowd who had come to the festival, when they heard that יהושע was coming to Yerushalayim,


“Do not fear, daughter of Tsiyon, see, your Sovereign is coming, sitting on the colt of a donkey.”
