“But what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I say to you, and more than a prophet.

“But what did you go out to see? A man dressed in soft garments? Look, those wearing soft garments are in the houses of sovereigns.

And wishing to kill him, he feared the crowd, because they held him as a prophet.

And you, child, shall be called prophet of the Most High, for you shall go before the face of יהוה to prepare His ways,

But if we say, ‘From men,’ all the people shall stone us, for they are persuaded that Yoḥanan was a prophet.
