But he went out and began to publish it so much, and to spread the word, that יהושע was no longer able to openly enter the city, but was outside in lonely places. Yet they came to Him from all directions.


Now this was the witness of Yoḥanan when the Yehuḏim sent from Yerushalayim priests and Lĕwites to ask him, “Who are you?”


Come, see a Man who told me all that I have done. Is this not the Messiah?


The Yehuḏim therefore said to him who had been healed, “It is the Sabbath, it is not right for you to take up the bed.”


Therefore they asked him, “Who is the Man who said to you, ‘Take up your bed and walk’?”


And because of this the Yehuḏim persecuted יהושע, and were seeking to kill Him, because He was doing these healings on the Sabbath.


Because of this, then, the Yehuḏim were seeking all the more to kill Him, ‘because not only was He breaking the Sabbath, but He also called Elohim His own Father, making Himself equal with Elohim.’


Therefore the Pharisees also asked him again how he had received his sight. He said to them, “He put clay on my eyes, and I washed, and I see.”


Then he answered and said, “Whether He is a sinner, I do not know. I only know that I was blind, now I see.”


The man answered and said to them, “Why, this is a wonder! You do not know where He is from, yet He opened my eyes!


They answered and said to him, “You were completely born in sins – and are you teaching us?” And they cast him out.
