And after these events it came to be that it was said to Yosĕph, “See, your father is sick.” And he took with him his two sons, Menashsheh and Ephrayim.


And having left them He went out of the city to Bĕyth Anyah, and spent the night there.


And when they came near Yerushalayim, to Bĕyth Phaḡi and Bĕyth Anyah, at the Mount of Olives, He sent out two of His taught ones,


He said this, and after that He said to them, “Our friend El‛azar has fallen asleep, but I am going there, to wake him up.”


Now Bĕyth Anyah was near Yerushalayim, about fifteen stadia away.


And many of the Yehuḏim had come to Martha and Miryam, to comfort them concerning their brother.


Therefore the sisters sent to Him, saying, “Master, see, he whom You love is sick.”


Therefore the crowd, who were with Him when He called El‛azar out of his tomb and raised him from the dead, were bearing witness.


Then a great crowd of the Yehuḏim learned that He was there. And they came, not on account of יהושע only, but also to see El‛azar, whom He had raised from the dead.


And it came to be in those days that she became sick and died. And having washed her, they laid her in an upper room.
