“When do you put an end to words? Understand, and let us then talk.
How long will it be ere ye make an end of words? Mark, and afterwards we will speak.
How long will you lay snares for words and have to hunt for your argument? Do some clear thinking, and then we will reply.
How long will ye hunt for words? Consider, and afterwards we will speak.
How long? Would you all stop talking. Try to understand and then we can speak.
How long will you throw around words? Understand first, and then let us speak.
How long will you throw out words? Understand first, and so let us speak.
“Should a multitude of words go unanswered? And should a man of lips be declared right?
And Bildaḏ the Shuḥite answered and said,
Why should we be reckoned as beasts, as stupid in your eyes?
“Listen closely to my word, and let this be your comfort.
There the wrong cease raging, and there the weary are at rest,
“And yet, O Iyoḇ, please hear my speech and listen to all my words.
“How long are you going to speak like this, since the words of your mouth are a strong wind?
He who answers a matter before he hears it, It is folly and shame to him.
So then, my beloved brothers, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath,
