And Yo’aḇ son of Tseruyah, and the servants of Dawiḏ, went out and met them by the pool of Giḇ‛on. And they sat down, one on one side of the pool and the other on the other side of the pool.


And there were three sons of Tseruyah there, Yo’aḇ and Aḇishai and Asah’ĕl. And Asah’ĕl was light on his feet, as one of the gazelles in the field.


And there was a battle with the Philistines again at Goḇ, where Elḥanan son of Ya‛arĕy-Oreḡim the Bĕyth Leḥemite struck Golyath the Gittite, the shaft of whose spear was like a weaver’s beam.


He was more esteemed than the thirty, but he did not come to the first three. And Dawiḏ set him over his guard.


And the mighty men of the armies were Asah’ĕl the brother of Yo’aḇ, Elḥanan son of Doḏo of Bĕyth Leḥem,


The fourth for the fourth new moon was Asah’ĕl the brother of Yo’aḇ, and Zeḇaḏyah his son after him, and in his division were twenty-four thousand.
