And they slaughtered slaughterings to יהוה and offered ascending offerings to יהוה on the next day: a thousand bulls, a thousand rams, a thousand lambs, with their drink offerings, and slaughterings in large numbers for all Yisra’ĕl.


And Shelomoh went up there to the bronze slaughter-place before יהוה, which was at the Tent of Appointment, and offered a thousand ascending offerings on it.


and slaughtered to יהוה on that day seven hundred bulls and seven thousand sheep from the spoil which they had brought.


see, I am building a House for the Name of יהוה my Elohim, to set it apart to Him, to burn before Him sweet incense, and for the continual showbread, and for the ascending offerings morning and evening, on the sabbaths, and on the new moons, and on the appointed times of יהוה our Elohim. This is for Yisra’ĕl forever.


For Ḥizqiyahu sovereign of Yehuḏah presented to the assembly a thousand bulls and seven thousand sheep, and the rulers presented to the assembly a thousand bulls and ten thousand sheep. And a great number of priests set themselves apart.


And Sovereign Shelomoh, and all the congregation of Yisra’ĕl who were assembled to him before the ark, were slaughtering so many sheep and cattle that could not be counted or numbered.


And the sovereign and all the people slaughtered slaughterings before יהוה.


And the priests were standing over their duties, and the Lĕwites with instruments of the song to יהוה, which Sovereign Dawiḏ had made to give thanks to יהוה, saying, “For His loving-commitment is everlasting,” whenever Dawiḏ praised by their hand. And the priests were blowing trumpets before them, and all Yisra’ĕl were standing.


“And on the prince are the ascending offerings, and the grain offerings, and drink offerings, at the festival, the new moons, the sabbaths – in all the appointed times of the house of Yisra’ĕl. He is to prepare the sin offering, and the grain offering, and the ascending offering, and the peace offerings to make atonement for the house of Yisra’ĕl.”


Is יהוה pleased with thousands of rams or ten thousand rivers of oil? Shall I give my first-born for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my being?


And the leaders brought the dedication offering of the slaughter-place in the day it was anointed. So the leaders brought their offering before the slaughter-place.


At that time the Ḥanukkah came to be in Yerushalayim, and it was winter.
