And he commanded them, saying, “This is what you are to do: One-third of you who come in on the Sabbath to be on guard in the sovereign’s house,
“And the two detachments of you who are going out on the Sabbath shall be on guard in the House of יהוה for the sovereign.
These were their offices in their service for coming into the House of יהוה according to their right-ruling by the hand of Aharon their father, as יהוה Elohim of Yisra’ĕl had commanded him.
The gatekeepers were on the four sides: the east, west, north, and south.
For the four chief gatekeepers were in an office of trust. They were Lĕwites, and they were over the rooms and treasuries of the House of Elohim.
“This is what you do: One-third of you entering on the Sabbath, of the priests and the Lĕwites, gatekeepers of the thresholds;
And the Lĕwites and all Yehuḏah did according to all that Yehoyaḏa the priest commanded. And each man took his men who were to come in on the Sabbath, with those going out on the Sabbath, for Yehoyaḏa the priest did not dismiss the divisions.
