And Laḇan said to him, “You are indeed my bone and my flesh.” And he stayed with him for a new moon.
But Aḇshalom sent spies throughout all the tribes of Yisra’ĕl, saying, “As soon as you hear the voice of the shophar, then you shall say, ‘Aḇshalom is sovereign in Ḥeḇron!’ ”
And it came to be afterwards that Dawiḏ inquired of יהוה, saying, “Do I go up to any of the cities of Yehuḏah?” And יהוה said to him, “Go up.” And Dawiḏ said, “Where should I go up?” And He said, “To Ḥeḇron.”
And the days that Dawiḏ reigned over Yisra’ĕl was forty years. He reigned seven years in Ḥeḇron, and in Yerushalayim he reigned thirty-three years.
And they went up through the South and came to Ḥeḇron. And Aḥiman, Shĕshai, and Talmai, the descendants of Anaq, were there. Now Ḥeḇron had been built seven years before Tso‛an in Mitsrayim.
