Then Abimelech called Abraham, and said to him, “What have you done to us? And how have I sinned against you, that you have brought on me and my kingdom a great sin? You have done to me things that ought not to be done.”


But who can discern his errors? Clear thou me from hidden faults.


Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me! Then I shall be blameless, and innocent of great transgression.


Let not your mouth lead you into sin, and do not say before the messenger that it was a mistake; why should God be angry at your voice, and destroy the work of your hands?

though I formerly blasphemed and persecuted and insulted him; but I received mercy because I had acted ignorantly in unbelief,


He can deal gently with the ignorant and wayward, since he himself is beset with weakness.


but into the second only the high priest goes, and he but once a year, and not without taking blood which he offers for himself and for the errors of the people.


From the same mouth come blessing and cursing. My brethren, this ought not to be so.
