And from the sons of Hamor, Shechem's father, he bought for a hundred pieces of money the piece of land on which he had pitched his tent.

For the saying which he cried by the word of the Lord against the altar in Bethel, and against all the houses of the high places which are in the cities of Samaria, shall surely come to pass.”


And he sent messengers ahead of him, who went and entered a village of the Samaritans, to make ready for him;


Are you greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well, and drank from it himself, and his sons, and his cattle?”


Many Samaritans from that city believed in him because of the woman's testimony, “He told me all that I ever did.”


Jacob's well was there, and so Jesus, wearied as he was with his journey, sat down beside the well. It was about the sixth hour.


For his disciples had gone away into the city to buy food.


The bones of Joseph which the people of Israel brought up from Egypt were buried at Shechem, in the portion of ground which Jacob bought from the sons of Hamor the father of Shechem for a hundred pieces of money; it became an inheritance of the descendants of Joseph.
