What more was there to do for my vineyard, that I have not done in it? When I looked for it to yield grapes, why did it yield wild grapes?


I have sent to you all my servants the prophets, sending them persistently, saying, ‘Turn now every one of you from his evil way, and amend your deeds, and do not go after other gods to serve them, and then you shall dwell in the land that I gave to you and your fathers.’ But you did not incline your ear or listen to me.


And the tenants took his servants and beat one, killed another, and stoned another.


But when the tenants saw the son, they said to themselves, ‘This is the heir. Come, let us kill him and have his inheritance.’


When therefore the owner of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those tenants?”


They said to him, “He will put those wretches to a miserable death and let out the vineyard to other tenants who will give him the fruits in their seasons.”


and sent his servants to call those who were invited to the wedding feast, but they would not come.


And he began to speak to them in parables. “A man planted a vineyard and put a fence around it and dug a pit for the winepress and built a tower, and leased it to tenants and went into another country.


But those tenants said to one another, ‘This is the heir. Come, let us kill him, and the inheritance will be ours.’


What will the owner of the vineyard do? He will come and destroy the tenants and give the vineyard to others.


And he began to tell the people this parable: “A man planted a vineyard and let it out to tenants and went into another country for a long while.
