When the dragon saw that he had been thrown down to the earth, he persecuted the woman who had given birth to the male child.

And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman, who brought forth the man child:

I will put hostility between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring. He will strike your head, and you will strike his heel.

I have told you these things so that in me you may have peace. You will have suffering in this world. Be courageous! I have conquered the world.’
