But Nadab and Abihu died before their father, and they had no sons, so Eleazar and Ithamar served as priests.


They took their stand  against King Uzziah and said, ‘Uzziah, you have no right to offer incense to the Lord    #– #only the consecrated priests, the descendants of Aaron, have the right to offer incense.  Leave the sanctuary, for you have acted unfaithfully! You will not receive honour from the Lord God.’


These searched for their entries in the genealogical records, but they could not be found, so they were disqualified from the priesthood.


As for the firepans of those who sinned at the cost of their own lives, make them into hammered sheets as plating for the altar, for they presented them before the Lord, and the firepans are holy. They will be a sign to the Israelites.’


just as the Lord commanded him through Moses. It was to be a reminder for the Israelites that no unauthorised person outside the lineage of Aaron should approach to offer incense before the Lord   and become like Korah and his followers.
