Jesus told the crowds all these things in parables, and he did not tell them anything without a parable,


When he was alone, those around him with the Twelve  asked him about the parables.


He was speaking the word  to them with many parables  like these, as they were able to understand.


Then beginning with Moses  and all the Prophets,  he interpreted for them the things concerning himself in all the Scriptures.


Jesus gave them this figure of speech, but they did not understand  what he was telling them.


‘I have spoken these things to you in figures of speech. A time is coming when I will no longer speak to you in figures, but I will tell you plainly about the Father.


After arranging a day with him, many came to him at his lodging. From dawn to dusk he expounded and testified about the kingdom of God. He tried to persuade them about Jesus from both the Law of Moses and the Prophets.
