For many will come in my name, saying, “I am the Messiah,” and they will deceive many.
For false messiahs and false prophets will arise and will perform signs and wonders to lead astray, if possible, the elect.
When you hear of wars and rumours of wars, don’t be alarmed; these things must take place, but it is not yet the end.
I have come in my Father’s name, and yet you don’t accept me. If someone else comes in his own name, you will accept him.
Therefore I told you that you will die in your sins. For if you do not believe that I am he, you will die in your sins.’
So Jesus said to them, ‘When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am he, and that I do nothing on my own. But just as the Father taught me, I say these things.
Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see if they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
