But the Lord said to me, ‘These prophets are prophesying a lie in my name. I did not send them, nor did I command them or speak to them. They are prophesying to you a false vision, worthless divination, the deceit  of their own minds.


Many false prophets   will rise up and deceive many.


For many will come in my name, saying, “I am the Messiah,” and they will deceive many.


For false messiahs and false prophets will arise and will perform signs and wonders   to lead astray, if possible, the elect.


Jesus told them, ‘Watch out that no one deceives you.


When you hear of wars and rumours of wars,   don’t be alarmed;   these things must take place,   but it is not yet the end.


I have come in my Father’s name,   and yet you don’t accept me.   If someone else comes in his own name, you will accept him.


Therefore I told you that you will die in your sins. For if you do not believe that I am he, you will die in your sins.’


So Jesus said to them, ‘When you lift up the Son of Man,   then you will know that I am   he, and that I do nothing on my own.   But just as the Father taught me, I say these things.


Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits  to see if they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
