Many desire a ruler’s favour, but a person receives justice from the  Lord.


In the day of prosperity be joyful,  but in the day of adversity, consider: God has made the one as well as the other,  so that no one can discover anything that will come after him.


I form light and create darkness, I make success and create disaster; I am the Lord, who does all these things.


‘For this is what the Lord says: Just as I have brought all this terrible disaster on these people,  so am I about to bring on them all the good I am promising them.


If a ram’s horn  is blown in a city, aren’t people afraid? If a disaster  occurs in a city, hasn’t the Lord done it?
