At that time Jesus said,  ‘I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and intelligent and revealed them to infants.


Yes, Father, because this was your good pleasure.


While he was still speaking, suddenly a bright cloud covered  them, and a voice from the cloud said, ‘This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well-pleased. Listen to him! ’


Again, a second time, he went away and prayed, ‘My Father, if this   cannot pass   unless I drink it, your will be done.’


And a voice from heaven said, ‘This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well-pleased.’


And a voice  came from heaven:  ‘You are my beloved  Son;  with you I am well-pleased.’


And he said, ‘Abba,   Father!   All things are possible   for you. Take this cup   away from me. Nevertheless, not what I will, but what you will.’


A cloud  appeared, overshadowing  them, and a voice  came from the cloud:  ‘This is my beloved  Son;  listen to him! ’


and the Holy Spirit descended on him in a physical appearance like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: ‘You are my beloved Son; with you I am well-pleased.’


Then a voice came from the cloud,  saying, ‘This is my Son,  the Chosen One;  , listen to him! ’


When Jesus heard it, he said, ‘This sickness will not end in death but is for the glory of God,   so that the Son of God   may be glorified through it.’


At that, Jesus said to Peter, ‘Put your sword away! Am I not to drink the cup   the Father has given me? ’


‘Neither this man nor his parents sinned,’ Jesus answered. ‘This came about so that God’s works   might be displayed in him.


so that in the coming ages  he might display the immeasurable riches  of his grace through his kindness  to us in Christ Jesus.


This is so that God’s multi-faceted wisdom  may now be made known through the church to the rulers and authorities in the heavens.


to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, for ever and ever. Amen.


For he received honour and glory from God the Father when the voice came to him from the Majestic Glory, saying ‘This is my beloved Son,  with whom I am well-pleased! ’
