There was a man in the country of Uz  named Job.  He was a man of complete integrity,  who feared God and turned away from evil.


A mixed crowd also went up with them, along with a huge number of livestock, both flocks and herds.


In the year that the chief commander,  sent by King Sargon of Assyria, came to Ashdod  and attacked and captured it #– #


all the kings of Arabia, and all the kings of the mixed peoples who have settled in the desert;


Send word to the king of Edom, the king of Moab, the king of the Ammonites, the king of Tyre, and the king of Sidon  through messengers who are coming to King Zedekiah of Judah in Jerusalem.


A sword is against his horses and chariots and against all the foreigners among them, and they will be like women. A sword is against her treasuries, and they will be plundered.


So rejoice and be glad, Daughter Edom, you resident of the land of Uz! Yet the cup  will pass to you as well; you will get drunk and expose yourself.


Cush, Put, and Lud, and all the various foreign troops, as well as Libya  and the men of the covenant land will fall by the sword along with them.


Judah captured Gaza and its territory, Ashkelon and its territory, and Ekron and its territory.


As a guilt offering to the Lord, the Philistines had sent back one gold tumour for each city:  Ashdod, Gaza, Ashkelon, Gath, and Ekron.
