From there Abraham travelled to the region of the Negev and settled between Kadesh and Shur. While he was staying in Gerar,


Abraham planted a tamarisk tree in Beer-sheba, and there he called on the name of the Lord, the Everlasting God.


They went to the fortress of Tyre and all the cities of the Hivites and Canaanites. Afterwards, they went to the Negev of Judah at Beer-sheba.


When Moses sent them to scout out the land of Canaan, he told them, ‘Go up this way to the Negev, then go up into the hill country.


So Joshua conquered the whole region   #– #the hill country, the Negev, the Judean foothills,  and the slopes #– #with all their kings, leaving no survivors. He completely destroyed every living being, as the Lord, the God of Israel, had commanded.


Then they are to divide it into seven portions. Judah is to remain in its territory in the south and Joseph’s family in their territory in the north.


who enquired, ‘Where did you raid today? ’  , David replied, ‘The south country of Judah,’ ‘The south country of the Jerahmeelites,’  or ‘The south country of the Kenites.’
