‘As soon as I leave you,’ Moses said, ‘I will appeal to the Lord, and tomorrow the swarms of flies will depart from Pharaoh, his officials, and his people. But Pharaoh must not act deceptively again by refusing to let the people go and sacrifice to the Lord.’


Iniquity is atoned for by loyalty and faithfulness, and one turns from evil by the fear of the  Lord.


But if the wicked man is shown favour, he does not learn righteousness. In a righteous land he acts unjustly and does not see the majesty of the  Lord.


Why, Lord, do you make us stray from your ways? You harden our hearts so that we do not fear   you. Return, because of your servants, the tribes of your heritage.
