Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, our ancestors, keep this desire for ever in the thoughts of the hearts of your people, and confirm their hearts towards you.


God also said to Moses, ‘Say this to the Israelites: The Lord, the God of your ancestors, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you. This is my name for ever;  this is how I am to be remembered in every generation.


Those who swear by the guilt of Samaria and say, ‘As your god lives, Dan,’ or, ‘As the way  , of Beer-sheba lives’   – they will fall, never to rise again.


and many nations will come and say, ‘Come, let’s go up to the mountain of the  Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob. He will teach us about his ways So that we may walk in his paths.’ For instruction will go out of Zion and the word of the  Lord from Jerusalem.


‘Therefore, everyone who will acknowledge me before others, I will also acknowledge him before my Father in heaven.


All the Law and the Prophets depend   on these two commands.’


Therefore, whatever you want others to do for you, do also the same for them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.

‘The   Law and the Prophets   were until John; since then, the good news of the kingdom of God   has been proclaimed, and everyone is urgently invited to enter it.

After the reading of the Law and the Prophets, the leaders of the synagogue sent word to them, saying, ‘Brothers, if you have any word of encouragement for the people, you can speak.’


But some of the believers who belonged to the party of the Pharisees stood up and said, ‘It is necessary to circumcise them and to command them to keep the law of Moses.’


About that time there was a major disturbance about the Way.


But when some became hardened and would not believe, slandering the Way in front of the crowd, he withdrew from them, taking the disciples, and conducted discussions every day in the lecture hall of Tyrannus.


And he said, “The God of our ancestors has appointed  you to know his will, to see  the Righteous One,  and to hear the words from his mouth,


Since Felix was well informed about the Way,  he adjourned the hearing, saying, ‘When Lysias the commander comes down, I will decide your case.’


For we have found this man to be a plague,  an agitator  among all the Jews throughout the Roman world, and a ringleader of the sect of the Nazarenes.


Then Paul made his defence: ‘Neither against the Jewish law,  nor against the temple, nor against Caesar have I sinned in any way.’


To this very day, I have had help from God, and I stand and testify to both small and great, saying nothing other than what the prophets and Moses said would take place   #– #


King Agrippa, do you believe the prophets? I know you believe.’


‘All the Jews know my way of life from my youth, which was spent from the beginning among my own people and in Jerusalem.


And now I stand on trial because of the hope  in what God promised  to our ancestors,


But we want to hear what your views are, since we know that people everywhere are speaking against this sect.’


After arranging a day with him, many came to him at his lodging. From dawn to dusk he expounded and testified about the kingdom of God. He tried to persuade them about Jesus from both the Law of Moses and the Prophets.


The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our ancestors,  has glorified his servant Jesus, whom you handed over and denied before Pilate,  though he had decided to release him.


The God of our ancestors raised up Jesus,  whom you had murdered by hanging him on a tree.


I am the God of your ancestors #– #the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob.   , Moses began to tremble and did not dare to look.


and requested letters  from him to the synagogues in Damascus, so that if he found any men or women who belonged to the Way,  he might bring them as prisoners to Jerusalem.


God is my witness,  whom I serve with my spirit  in telling the good news about his Son #– #that I constantly mention you,


But now, apart from the law, the righteousness of God has been revealed,  attested by the Law and the Prophets.  ,


Indeed, it is necessary that there be factions  among you, so that those who are approved may be recognised among you.


idolatry,  sorcery,  hatreds,  strife,  jealousy,  outbursts of anger,  selfish ambitions,  dissensions,  factions,


I thank God, whom I serve with a clear conscience  as my ancestors did, when I constantly remember you in my prayers night and day.


Reject a divisive  person after a first and second warning.


They enquired into what time or what circumstances the Spirit of Christ  within them was indicating when he testified in advance  to the sufferings of Christ  and the glories  that would follow.


Then I fell at his feet to worship him, but he said to me, ‘Don’t do that!  I am a fellow servant with you and your brothers and sisters who hold firmly to the testimony of Jesus.  Worship God, because the testimony of Jesus is the spirit  of prophecy.’
