And Noah did this. He did everything that God had commanded him.


Gad came to David that day and said to him, ‘Go up and set up an altar to the Lord on the threshing-floor of Araunah the Jebusite.’


Araunah looked down and saw the king and his servants coming towards him, so he went out and paid homage to the king with his face to the ground.


David went up at Gad’s command spoken in the name of the Lord.


In the morning they got up early and went out to the wilderness of Tekoa. As they were about to go out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, ‘Hear me, Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem. Believe in the Lord your God, and you will be established;  believe in his prophets, and you will succeed.’


But they kept ridiculing God’s messengers,  despising his words,  and scoffing at his prophets, until the Lord’s wrath was so stirred up against his people that there was no remedy.


But they were disobedient and rebelled against you. They flung your law behind their backs and killed your prophets who warned them in order to turn them back to you. They committed terrible blasphemies.


By faith Abraham, when he was called, obeyed and set out for a place that he was going to receive as an inheritance. He went out, even though he did not know where he was going.
