Some time later, David enquired of the Lord:  ‘Should I go to one of the towns of Judah? ’ The Lord answered him, ‘Go.’ Then David asked, ‘Where should I go? ’ ‘To Hebron,’  the Lord replied.


Then David enquired of the Lord:  ‘Should I attack the Philistines? Will you hand them over to me? ’ The Lord replied to David, ‘Attack, for I will certainly hand the Philistines over to you.’


So David enquired of the Lord, and he answered, ‘Do not attack directly, but circle around behind them and come at them opposite the balsam trees.

But David’s men said to him, ‘Look, we’re afraid here in Judah; how much more if we go to Keilah against the Philistine forces! ’


Once again, David enquired of the Lord, and the Lord answered him, ‘Go at once to Keilah, for I will hand the Philistines over to you.’


Abiathar son of Ahimelech fled to David at Keilah, and he brought an ephod with him.


and David asked the Lord,  ‘Should I pursue these raiders? Will I overtake them? ’ The Lord replied to him, ‘Pursue them, for you will certainly overtake them and rescue the people.’
