Now when John had heard, in prison, about the works of Christ, sending two of his disciples, he said to him,


For Herod had apprehended John, and bound him, and put him in prison, because of Herodias, the wife of his brother.


Then, after John was handed over, Jesus went into Galilee, preaching the Gospel of the kingdom of God,


For Herod himself had sent to capture John, and had chained him in prison, because of Herodias, the wife of his brother Philip; for he had married her.


But they continued more intensely, saying: "He has stirred up the people, teaching throughout all of Judea, beginning from Galilee, even to this place."


added this also, above all else: that he confined John to prison.


And Jesus returned, in the power of the Spirit, into Galilee. And his fame spread throughout the entire region.


And he descended to Capernaum, a city of Galilee. And there he taught them on the Sabbaths.


On the next day, he wanted to go into Galilee, and he found Philip. And Jesus said to him, "Follow me."


This was the beginning of the signs that Jesus accomplished in Cana of Galilee, and it manifested his glory, and his disciples believed in him.


For John had not yet been cast into prison.


Then, after two days, he departed from there, and he traveled into Galilee.


This next sign was the second that Jesus accomplished, after he had arrived in Galilee from Judea.
