Then he believed in Adonai and He reckoned it to him as righteousness.


The Scripture was fulfilled that says, “And Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness”—and he was called God’s friend.


Is this blessing then only on the circumcised, or also on the uncircumcised? For we say, “trust was credited to Abraham as righteousness.”


But to the one who does not work, but trusts in Him who justifies the ungodly, his trust is credited as righteousness—


And he received the sign of circumcision as a seal of the righteousness of the trust he had while he was uncircumcised, so he might be the father of all who are trusting while uncircumcised—that righteousness might be credited to them as well.


It was credited to him as righteousness, from generation to generation forever.


God has not rejected His people whom He knew beforehand. Or do you not know what the Scripture says about Elijah, how he pleads with God against Israel?


For the Scripture says, “Whoever trusts in Him will not be put to shame.”


For the Scripture says to Pharaoh, “For this very purpose I raised you up—to demonstrate My power in you, so My name might be proclaimed in all the earth.”


Haven’t you read this Scripture? ‘The stone which the builders rejected, this has become the chief cornerstone.


Or do you think that in vain the Scripture says, “He yearns jealously over the spirit which He made to dwell in us”?


To Torah and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, it is because they have no light.


And those who had come about the eleventh hour each received a denarius.
