Then he will make a firm covenant with many for one week, but in the middle of the week he will put an end to sacrifice and offering. And on a wing of abominations will come one who destroys, until the decreed annihilation is poured out on the one who destroys.’”


“From the time that the daily burnt offering is taken away, and abomination of desolation is set up, there will be 1,290 days.


“But when you see ‘the abomination of desolation’ standing where it should not be (let the reader understand), then those in Judea must flee to the mountains.


“But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then recognize that her desolation is near.


“His forces will rise up and profane the fortified Temple; they will stop the daily offering and set up the abomination of desolation.


How fortunate is the one who reads the words of this prophecy, and those who hear and keep what has been written in it—for the time is near.


For the days will come upon you when your enemies will surround you with barricades and hem you in on all sides.

shouting, “Men of Israel, help! This is the man who is teaching all men everywhere against our people and the Torah and this place. Besides, he has even brought Greeks into the Temple and defiled this holy place!”


The man said to me, “Son of man, see with your eyes, hear with your ears, set your heart on all that I show you—for I brought you here in order to show you—and report all that you see to the house of Israel.”


If we let Him go on like this, everyone will believe in Him, and the Romans will come and take away both our holy place and our nation.”


“Moreover, this will be the sign to you: I will visit punishment on you in this place, so that you may know that My words will surely stand against you as calamity.”


Now among them were some from the sons of Judah: Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah.
