Now Yeshua Himself had testified that a prophet has no honor in his own country.


Blessed is the one who is not led to stumble because of Me.”


But He said, “Truly, I tell you, ‘No prophet is accepted in his own hometown.’


But Yeshua knew His disciples were murmuring, so He said to them, “Does this offend you?


He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows, acquainted with grief, One from whom people hide their faces. He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.


They were saying, “Isn’t this Yeshua the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How can He now say, ‘I have come down from heaven’?”


Blessed is he who is not led to stumble because of Me.”


Thus says Adonai, the Redeemer of Israel, their Holy One, to the One despised, to the One the nation abhors, to a servant of rulers: “Kings will see and arise, princes will also bow down, because of Adonai who is faithful, the Holy One of Israel who has chosen You.”


He will be a Sanctuary, but a stone of stumbling and a rock of offence to both the houses of Israel, a trap and a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.


King Herod heard, for Yeshua’s name had become known. Some were saying, “John the Immerser has risen from the dead! Because of this, these powers are at work in Him!”


Isn’t this the carpenter, the son of Miriam, and the brother of Jacob and Joseph and Judah and Simon? Aren’t His sisters here with us?” And they took offense at Him.


And He did not do many mighty works there because of their unbelief.


Now Yeshua went out from there, and He comes to His hometown, and His disciples follow Him.


Then Yeshua began saying to them, “A prophet is not without honor except in his hometown, among his relatives, and in his own house.”
