They were trying to seize Yeshua, because they realized that He spoke the parable against them. But they feared the crowd, so they left Him and went away.


Although they were trying to seize Him, they feared the crowds, because they regarded Him as a prophet.


Although Herod wanted to kill John, he feared the crowd because they considered John a prophet.


Then the captain went off with the officers and brought the emissaries—but not with force, because they feared they might be stoned by the people.


Many people came to Him and were saying, “John performed no sign, but all John said about this man was true.”


The ruling kohanim and Torah scholars were searching for a way to do away with Yeshua, for they were afraid of the people.


The Torah scholars and the ruling kohanim tried to grab Him that very hour, because they realized that He spoke this parable against them—but they feared the people.


For Herod was in awe of John and kept him safe, knowing him to be a righteous and holy man. When he listened to John he was confused, but he still listened gladly.


Then what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, even more than a prophet.


They began to dialogue among themselves, saying, “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ He will say, ‘Then why didn’t you believe him?’


So answering Yeshua, they say, “We don’t know.” And Yeshua tells them, “Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things.”
