Some began to spit on Him, to blindfold Him, and to beat Him with their fists, saying, “Prophesy!” Also the guards slapped Him around.


Then they spat in His face and pounded Him with their fists. Others slapped Him and demanded,


From that time on, Yeshua began to show His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things from the elders and ruling kohanim and Torah scholars, and be killed, and be raised on the third day.

Torah was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Yeshua the Messiah.


Now Herod together with his soldiers were treating Him with contempt and mocking Him. They put splendid clothing on Him and sent Him back to Pilate.


Tearing his clothes, the kohen gadol says, “Why do we still need witnesses?


He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows, acquainted with grief, One from whom people hide their faces. He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.


I gave My back to those who strike, and My cheeks to those pulling out My beard; I did not hide My face from humiliation and spitting.


For You will not abandon my soul to Sheol nor let Your faithful one see the Pit.


After two days He will revive us. On the third day He will raise us up, and we will live in His presence.


Many bulls have surrounded me. Strong bulls of Bashan encircled me.


They despise me; they keep their distance from me; they do not hesitate to spit in my face.


“Sir,” they said, “we remember how that deceiver said while He was still alive, ‘After three days I’m to be raised.’


for He was teaching His disciples and telling them, “The Son of Man is going to be delivered into the hands of men, and they will kill Him. And after He is killed, three days later He will rise up.”
