Paul said, “John immersed with an immersion of repentance, telling the people that they should believe in the One coming after him—that is, in Yeshua.”

As John was completing his service, he said, ‘What do you suppose me to be? I am not He. But behold, One is coming after me, whose sandal I’m not worthy to untie.’

The Judean leaders responded, “What sign do You show us, since You are doing these things?”

so Judean leaders were saying to the man who was healed, “It’s Shabbat! It’s not permitted for you to carry your mat.”

Then the Jews began arguing with one another, “How can this man give us His flesh to eat?”

Some of the Judeans started to grumble about Him, because He said, “I am the bread that came down from heaven.”

“Take care in the plague of tza'arat—be very careful to do all that the Levitical kohanim instruct you, just as I commanded them, so you are to take care to do.

The man left and told the Judean leaders that it was Yeshua who had made him well.

Because Yeshua was doing these things on Shabbat, the Judean leaders started persecuting Him.

So for this reason the Judean leaders kept trying even harder to kill Him—because He was not only breaking Shabbat, but also calling God His own Father, making Himself equal with God.

After these events, Yeshua was walking about in the Galilee. He did not want to walk in Judea, because the Judean leaders wanted to kill Him.

Then the Judean leaders were searching for Him at the Feast and kept asking, “Where is that fellow?”

Then the Judean leaders were amazed, saying, “How does this man know so much, having never been taught?”

“He won’t kill Himself, will He?” the Judeans asked. “Is that why He says, ‘Where I am going, you cannot come’?”

The Judean leaders responded, “Aren’t we right to say you are a Samaritan and have a demon?”

“Now we know You have a demon!” the Judean leaders said to Him. “Abraham and the prophets died. Yet You say, ‘If anyone keeps My word, he will never taste death.’

Then the Judeans said to Him, “You’re not even fifty years old and you’ve seen Abraham?”

Again the Judean leaders picked up stones to stone Him.

and many of the Judeans had come to Martha and Miriam to console them about their brother.

Now this is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you—that God is light and in Him there is no darkness at all.
