See, he comes up like clouds, and his chariots like whirlwinds. His horses are swifter than eagles— “Oy ! We are ruined!”


You will grope at noon as the blind person gropes in darkness, and you will not prosper in your ways. You will be only oppressed and robbed all the time, and there will be no one to save you.


Arise and go! For this is not the resting place, because of uncleanness that destroys— a grievous destruction.


In that day He will lift up a parable for you, and there will be wailing lamentation, saying: “We have been utterly ruined! He changes the portion of my people. How He removes it from me! To the faithless He apportions our fields!”


Our inheritance is turned over to strangers, our homes to foreigners.


“Turn away! Unclean!” They cry to them. “Turn away, turn away! Don’t touch!” So they fled and wandered about. People among the nations say, “They can stay here no longer.”


Disaster on disaster is reported. So the whole land is ruined. My tents are suddenly ravaged, my curtains in an instant.


Is Israel a servant—a slave by birth? Then why has he become plunder?


“Now you are to keep all My statutes and all My ordinances and do them, so that the land where I am bringing you to dwell will not vomit you out.


If you defile it, the land will vomit you out as it vomited out the nation that was before you.


The land has become defiled, so I will punish its iniquity, and the land will vomit out its inhabitants.


And I will cast you out of My sight, just as I cast out all your brothers, all the offspring of Ephraim.


But am I the One they are provoking?” declares Adonai. “Are they not vexing themselves to their own shame?”


Cut off your hair and throw it away and take up a lamentation on the barren hills. For Adonai has spurned and cast off the generation of His wrath.”


Then said Adonai to me: “Even if Moses and Samuel stood before Me, My soul could not be toward this people. Cast them out of My presence, and let them go out!”


Rise up, you women at ease, And hear my voice. You complacent daughters, give ear to my words.


“You, son of man, lift up a lament for Tyre.
