What then? What Israel is seeking, it has not obtained; but the elect obtained it, and the rest were hardened—


For while I was passing through and observing the objects of your worship, I even found an altar with this inscription: ‘To an Unknown God.’ Therefore what you worship without knowing, this I proclaim to you.


“But now listen, Jacob My servant, Israel, whom I have chosen.”


But it is not as though the word of God has failed. For not all those who are descended from Israel are Israel,


And unless Adonai had cut short those days, no one would be saved. But for the sake of the elect, whom He chose, He cut short the days.


And unless those days were cut short, no one would be delivered. But for the sake of the chosen, those days will be cut short.


while saying of Cyrus, “He is My shepherd, and he shall fulfill all My purpose” while saying to Jerusalem, “You will be built” and to the Temple, “Your foundation will be laid.”


Thus says Adonai, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: “For your sake I will send to Babylon and bring down the fleeing Chaldeans, all of them, in the ships in which they exult.


not in the passion of lust like the pagans who do not know God;


At that time you were separate from Messiah, excluded from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world.


an inheritance for Israel His servant, for His lovingkindness endures forever.


But now, thus says Adonai— the One who created you, O Jacob, the One who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you, I have called you by name, you are Mine.


O seed of Abraham, His servant, O children of Jacob, His chosen ones.
