When the king asked the woman, she told him the story. So the king assigned to her a court official, saying, “Restore all that was hers, and all the revenue of the field since the day that she left the land until now.”


As the king of Israel was passing by on the wall, a woman cried out to him saying, “My lord the king, help!”


He said to him, “Tell her: Behold, you have gone to all this trouble for us. What can be done for you? Can something be communicated to the king or to the commander of the army for you?” She answered, “I am living among my own people.”


When the woman of Tekoa spoke to the king, she fell on her face to the ground, bowed down and said, “Help, O king!”


So the woman arose and did according to the word of the man of God. She and her household went and stayed in the land of the Philistines for seven years.


Now the king was talking with Gehazi, the servant of the man of God, “Please tell me,” he was saying, “all the great things that Elisha has done.”


So she left the place where she was, along with her two daughters-in-law, and they started out on the road to return to the land of Judah.
