So Hilkiah, and those whom the king commanded, went to Huldah the prophetess, the wife of Shallum son of Tokahath, son of Hasrah, keeper of the wardrobe—now she was living in Jerusalem in the Second Quarter—and spoke to her about this.

But every woman praying or prophesying with her head uncovered dishonors her head. For it is one and the same as having been shaved.


She said to them, “Thus says Adonai, the God of Israel: Tell the man that sent you to me:


sent and brought Jeremiah out of the guard’s courtyard, and gave him to Gedaliah son of Ahikam son of Shaphan, to take him home. So he dwelt among the people.
