Once the kingdom was established in his hand, he killed his courtiers who had assassinated his father the king.


Then the people of the land struck down all who had conspired against King Amon, and the people of the land made Josiah his son king in his place.

The word of Adonai came to him during the days of King Josiah of Judah, son of Amon, in the thirteenth year of his reign.


Josiah was eight years old when he became king, and he reigned 31 years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Jedidah daughter of Adaiah of Bozkath.
